JOB VACANCY: ARCHITECT / ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

The Role

 

We are currently looking for an Architect/Architectural Designer to join our Apia office in Samoa. This position will be responsible for a broad range of duties from development design right through to practical completion of various infrastructure projects that range across education, civil infrastructure, health, government, religious institutions, renewable energy and tourism.

 

To be successful you must have tertiary qualifications in Architecture (or similar). You must also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of construction detailing and documentation production, along with:

• Exposure to reinforced concrete design, steel design, timber design, cyclone & earthquake design
• Strong visualisation skills and deductive reasoning
• Originality in design concepts
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Samoan standards and also relevant regional standards and building codes (e.g. Australian and New Zealand)
• Documentation experience using Revit and illustration packages within the Adobe suite will be favourably considered
• Experience with standard General Conditions of Contracts such as FIDIC and AS2124 will be highly regarded
