Sr. Associate, Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage StarKist Samoa, Co. cannery Electrical/Electronics and Utilities activities in terms of measured and reported operational, financial, quality and safety performance objectives.
- Provide technical and leadership guidance to a multi-skilled workforce covering a wide range of activities and accountabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must know and be fluent in reading and understanding DC voltage and current, and read schematics for DC and AC electrical layouts.
- Install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment.
- Understand and work on PLC’s and instrumentation
- Troubleshoot Electrical/Electronic equipment and repair as needed to ensure Fish Meal/ Fish Oil operation continues unimpeded.
- Planned preventative maintenance using the plants electronic PM system
- Install, maintain and modify equipment and machinery in all phases of cannery manufacturing. To keep product to a clean, sanitary and contaminant free standard which complies with company and FDA requirements.
- Continually drive process improvements and programs utilizing latest technology and industry best practices.
- Electronic and Electrical breakdown support for the engineering/electrical department
- Identify Engineering opportunities to improve plant efficiencies, yield operating cost reduction and quality.
- Assure safe and healthy working environment.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES
- Five years of overall professional experience in Electrical field / specific discipline.
- Five years in a position of similar complexity, scope, size and international impact.
- BE (Electrical), NZCE (Electrical) or Electrical Registration preferred in Electrical/Electronics or else wide-ranging trade, technical and supervisory experience.
- Broad knowledge and experience in industrial automation gained at successive levels of responsibility in multiple areas of electrical/electronics/instrumentation.
- Demonstrated prior success in achieving results using team driven philosophies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest from remote site locations and ability to communicate and exercise very positive people skills.
